Christa Culbert
USA
Christa is a horse trainer who lives in Bellingham, Washington with her husband, two dogs, and two horses. She has a BFA in painting and drawing, and is currently in a Masters program in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare. Christa offers in-person and online horse training and behavior consulting to foster joyful relationships and improve equine welfare. She particularly enjoys working with unhandled horses and horses who struggle to fit into the domestic world, and the amazing human beings who support them.

Coraline Plumat
Belgium
Coraline is a behaviour consultant and clicker trainer based in Belgium. She is supporting guardians in helping their horses find their way in a human-centred world using positive methods and especially focuses on anxiety, reactivity and frustration issues. She is dedicated to sharing science-based knowledge about horse education and management. She is an IAABC supporting member and volunteer, Equine Trainer and Trauma-Informed Trainer certified by Understand Horses and has co-founded the podcast ‘Une Carotte au Coin du Feu’ to help share modern equine training and behaviour information to the French speaking community.

Kate Banfield Rickard
UK
Kate is a freelance horse trainer and groom based in Cornwall. She holds the Understand Horses Professional Horse Trainer Certificate and the British Horse Society Intermediate Stable Manager qualification. Kate has a particular interest in horses showing complex physical and behavioural problems and has been the guardian of several equines with these challenges. Kate enjoys working with cooperative care protocols and breaking behaviours down into achievable, welfare-centred steps for both horses and humans. Kate is a member of IAABC and plans to work towards CEBC certification.

MIlly Paton
UK
Milly is the founder of Milly Paton Horsecraft. She helps horses and their owners thrive together by fostering safety, trust, and joy, using a holistic, force free approach grounded in science. She is a qualified positive reinforcement and trauma informed trainer through Understand Horses, an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, and a current Equine Science MSc student at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. With 20 years’ experience as a mental health nurse, Milly combines these skill sets to support nervous system regulation for both horse and human, drawing on a lifetime surrounded by horses in the New Forest.

Naomi Garner
UK
Naomi began her career in equine podiatry in 2019, training with Equine Podiatry Training Ltd. Owning nervous horses herself shaped her desire to work with cases others often avoid. Over time, she developed a practical, welfare-led approach to supporting anxious, dangerous, and physically compromised equines. This led her to specialise further in behaviour change and positive reinforcement, continuing her education with Understand Horses. Naomi’s work focuses on ethical, non-forceful solutions that prioritise both horse and human safety.

Trudi Dempsey
UK
Trudi is a Certified Equine Behaviour Consultant with the IAABC, a member of their Application Review Committee, and serves on their Board. She offers in person and online training and consultations, with a focus on mentoring students and professionals. Trudi created and teaches the certified Professional Horse Trainer Course at Understand Horses. She blends classical dressage and positive reinforcement training and specialises in behaviour change through low stress learning environments. She presents and demonstrates across the UK and worldwide. Trudi has contributed to Your Horse magazine and the IAABC Foundation Journal, and hosts the podcast Lead a Horse to Water.
